In-House Chelsea 2026 Retro 'Play Loud' Collection - 90s Inspired

Three days ago, Chelsea launched a special retro collection called 'Play Loud'. The new in-house line is directly inspired by the club's goalkeeper kits from the 1990s.

The in-house Chelsea 2026 'Play Loud' collection consists of 14 items, including t-shirts, polo shirts, jackets, hoodies, shorts, and joggers.

The designs pay tribute to former goalkeepers Dmitri Kharine and Frode Grodas by reimagining their distinct kit patterns into contemporary lifestyle apparel.

To maintain a true 1990s aesthetic, the items feature a loose fit and utilize the classic, retro Chelsea crest.

A prominent part of the collection is inspired by the yellow, black, and dark grey kit worn by Grodas during the 1997 FA Cup run. This pattern is applied to the first items in the collection, such as a polo shirt, a sweat top, a windbreaker, and shorts.

The collection also heavily references the 1993-1994 goalkeeper kits. Kharine’s 1994 home goalkeeper shirt is translated into a dark-colored t-shirt, hoodie, and shorts, complete with a prominent number '1' printed on the chest.

Furthermore, the orange and multicolored striped goalkeeper kit from that same season is adapted onto a white t-shirt, navy track jacket, joggers, and a matching hoodie.
