Exclusive: Celtic to Sign Adidas Kit Deal

There had been rumors before but while there's no official announcement it's looking increasingly likely that we'll see Adidas link up with Celtic from next season.

We know that the New Balance Celtic deal will end after the season and now a Celtic Park insider has confirmed to us that the club will sign with the three-stripe brand next season.

Celtic have been with New Balance since the start of the 2015-16 season. The club has never been sponsored by Adidas before, with Umbro producing the kits up until 2005 and Nike from 2005 to 2015.

Rumors about Celtic signing with Adidas first appeared on Twitter roughly half a year ago, with the club's supporters being greatly appreciative of the idea.

Although everything sounds very concrete right now, it would be horrible for New Balance to lose what's likely its second most important team after Liverpool the same season. Pending official confirmation, there remains a small chance that NB somehow manages to retain Celtic, possibly by executing a 'right to match' clause (if it exists as it did with Liverpool).
