The Norwegian Football Federation today unveiled the new Norway 2015 Crest, which is going to be used on the Nike Norway 2015 Home and Away Kits, expected to be released in January 2015. Norway announced a kit deal with Nike to produce all Norway kits until 2021 back in September.
The Norwegian Football Federation had already tried to change the crest back in 2008, but they had to revert their controversial logo after people complained.
New Norway Football Federation Crest
This is the new Norway FF crest, set be used on the upcoming Nike kits.
The new NFF logo follows a much more simplistic design structure than the previous crest, and is also incorporated inside the Norway crest used on the actual football shirts worn by the Norwegian National Team. The Norway National Team used a simple circle with the Norwegian flag on their kits during the last few years.
The national team consists of players from across the country and reflects the diversity of Norwegian society. The new crest symbolizes the values that contribute to the team, that the team is stronger than the sum of individual players. Pride, brutality and cohesion. These are the values we cultivate the national team. The same values I find again in the new national team crest. It is clear these will be significant when we are going out to represent our country, says coach Per-Mathias Høgmo.
The new Norway 2015 crest features the Norwegian flag for the lower part, while the Norwegian FF logo as well as the writing Norge (Norway) are placed above it in blue writing. Two golden lions, also seen on the coat of arms of Norway, are seen holding the centered NFF crest, while the complete shape is surrounded with golden lines.
