The new crest for the Nicaraguan national team was revealed on Friday. It will replace the badge of the Nicaraguan football federation on all shirts and gear.
New Nicaragua Crest
The new crest has a minimalistic design, as is the trend these days. It features a white capital letter n which contains the letter i within it, representing the international country code of Nicaragua, NI. A blue outline forms a simple shield shape, while three horizontal bands in blue and white represent the country’s flag. The bands are slightly spaced out, keeping in line with the rest of the badge, as space is left between each separate element. The county's name appears above the crest.
The slightly amateur-looking crest which had appeared on the nation team’s shirts until this point was that of the Nicaraguan FA. The FA will continue to use this as their own badge, with the new design only being used for the national team.
What do you think of Nicaragua's new crest? Do you think that all national teams should have a badge separate from that of the country's football association? Let us know in the comments.
