Burnley Football Club yesterday announced a two-year partnership with 96.COM, naming them as the Official Front of Shirt Partner for both the men's and women's teams for the 2024-25 season.
Burnley FC Signs 96.COM Front-of-Shirt Partner Deal - Valid For Two Seasons
96.COM is "a premium sports and gaming entertainment platform offering Casino, Virtual, and Online Betting services, which was established in 2019". The brand will feature prominently on Burnley's home, away, and third kits as the club aims for Premier League promotion.
The website and, especially, logo of 96.com do not look premium at all
Burnley signed a two-year deal, for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. From the 2026-27 season, a ban of gambling front-of-shirt sponsors will come into effect in the Premier League.
Oddly, the name and logo of 96.com has clear similarities to the logo of the traditional German club Hannover 96, founded in 1896. Both are not connected, of course, but 96.com apparently has taken inspiration from the football club.
Stuart Hunt, Burnley’s President of Business Operations, expressed excitement about the partnership, praising 96.COM’s commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and responsible gaming. He noted that 96.COM's investment is a record commercial fee for the club while in the Championship, which will bolster Burnley's infrastructure and overall football operations.
