Atletico Madrid will not play with their usual red and white home kit in the semi-finals of the Champions League against Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu this night, Spanish newspaper Marca reports.
Real Madrid to Use Away Kit Away Against Atlético Madrid?
Atletico Madrid will wear their black away shirt with yellow pants. Atletico Madrid sources say that the change is not by superstition and that it is the UEFA who wants Atlético to play with a black kit.
This comes by surprise as Atlético Madrid used their home kit against Real Madrid in the both the 2014 and 2016 Champions League finals.
According to UEFA, the regulation says that when a team's shirt matches one of the stripes with the color of the other shirt, the visiting team is asked to use the second set, something that Martin Atkinson has deemed appropriate. If the UEFA maintains the same criteria, Real Madrid will also not use its first white team in the second leg at the Calderon.
