For the first time in history, German DFL allows all 1. Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga clubs to sign an individual sleeve sponsor deal with the start of the 2017-2018 season. Similar to the English Premier League, which also introduced sleeve sponsors from the start of the 2017-18 season, around the half of all teams already signed sleeve sponsor deals for the new season.
Borussia Dortmund is the latest team that signed a sleeve sponsorship deal, while Bundesliga giants Bayern München have not announced a deal yet. Dortmund's (up to 10 million Euro with profit-related bonuses / season) and Schalke's (5 million Euro / season) are the most lucrative deals signed so far, while the deals of clubs such as Frankfurt and Hertha are worth around 2 million Euro / season.
