Generally speaking, the landscape of Liga MX kit suppliers has not witnessed a huge change compared to the last season with the only supplier changes happening at Club Puebla (Li-Ning -> Umbro) and Atlético de San Luis (Joma -> Pirma). However, the league's size was increased from 18 to 19 teams.
As last season, local kit supplier Charly leads with five teams that have not changed, too: Veracruz, Pachuca, Xolos, Necaxa and Santos Laguna. Two brands share the second place with three sponsored teams, respectively: Pirma (Atlético de San Luis, Morelia, León) & Puma (Chivas de Guadalajara, Querétaro, Rayados).
Rounding off the podium, the big players Adidas and Nike each sponsor two teams: Adidas is working with Tigres UANL as well as Atlas, while Nike relies on Club América and Pumas UNAM. The list is completed by Under Armour (Toluca), Umbro (Puebla), carrara (FC Juárez) and Joma (Cruz Azul).
The league displays an interesting phenomenon as the bigger brands seem to drift towards massive sponsorhip deals with the most-renowned clubs leaving room for smaller brands.
