Ajax Amsterdam has unveiled its new and first-ever sleeve sponsor. The partnership with the Curaçao Tourism Board will start retroactively on 1 January 2020 and will run until 30 June 2023.
Besides the official logo appearing on the sleeve of the official Ajax jerseys from now, the club will also promote tourism on the island through various channels among its millions of followers. The Ajax first team will also visit Curaçao as part of the agreement.
Mrs. Mc William, Minister of Economic Development of Curaçao, said: "Tourism is an important pillar of Curaçao's economic development. The cooperation with Ajax is a good way to tell our Dutch and international target group more about Curaçao as a versatile holiday destination".
"We have years of experience in sports marketing all over the world and a partnership with Ajax, with their international reach and view on future generations fits very well with our goals. We look forward to working together and welcoming the team to Curacao so they can experience for themselves how much there is to experience on our island".
Menno Geelen, commercial director of Ajax, added: "For Ajax the partnership with Curacao Tourist Board means a nice expansion of our commercial portfolio. And with Curaçao Tourist Board we will ensure that their marketing objectives will be achieved in part thanks to this partnership".
"Our new partner will provide Ajax with income that should contribute to our goal of structurally joining the European football top. We are looking forward to a long-term and successful cooperation".
The Ajax shirts featuring the Curaçao logo will be available from Sunday.
