Diadora to Return to Brazilian Elite Football

Italian sportswear brand Diadora are making a comeback to Brazilian football's elite after being away for two years. Story via Mantos do Futebol.

According to the company's General Director in Brazil, Milton de Souza, Diadora are currently in negotiations with several clubs of the first and second divisions of the Brasileirão.

Diadora are widely known for having sponsored big names in Brazilian sport in the past, such as Zico, and being a supplier of sporting equipment to major clubs like Palmeiras, Atlético-MG, Bahia, and Vasco da Gama.

Diadora are set to announce their first new sponsor deals soon, and one of them is Associação Atlética Ponte Preta from Campinas (SP), currently in the second division.

Diadora are present in 60 countries. In South America, Diadora make the kits of Vélez Sarsfield in Argentina.

Diadora currently supply virtually no teams in Europe

The return of Diadora to the Brazilian football market does not mean that the brand will also return to the European market. Diadora supplied AS Roma from 2003 until 2007.
