Coming as a bit of a surprise this morning, Nike have announced a limited-edition release of the "Mercurial Air Zoom Ultra" football boots.
These are closely similar to the same model that Nike initially unveiled more than two years ago and that was supposed to be released in time for the Tokyo Olympics in August 2020. The Olympics were finally moved to 2021 and nothing was ever said again about the cleats, until today.
All-New Nike Air Zoom Mercurial Boot - To Be Never Launched?
Nike Mercurial Air Zoom Ultra SE
Here are the new Nike Mercurial Air Zoom Ultra boots.
The new Mercurial Air Zoom Ultra boots from Nike are white with black and iridescent detailing - compared to the initial look we got in 2020, the visual design has been updated to more resemble that of the current-gen Mercurial.
The standout feature of the new Nike Air Zoom Mercurial soccer cleats is the full-length Zoom airbag, which is supposed to provide a "unique underfoot sensation" and "enhanced energy return." The other key detail are the Flywire strings on the upper, which are very visible thanks to the clean colorway.
