Yet another player who cut off the sock-like collar of Nike's high-cut football boots. Everton midfielder Muhamed Bešić , who previously laced up in Adidas X Boots, debuted a cut-off version of the Nike Mercurial Superfly Cleats in the Premier League match against Tottenham on January 3. And while his boots back then already caught the eyes of many, his one-of-a-kind boots became one of the most-talked topics in the boot world after Everton's Carling Cup victory against Man City on Wednesday.
Muhamed Bešić Laces Up in Cut-Off Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots

Based on the Laser Orange Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots (Released in September 2014), Besic's customized version of the orange, white and black cleats comes with the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the outstep. Interestingly, Besic also uses custom laces that are thicker than the laces of the regular edition of the speed boots. However, the most remarkable part is definitely the lower Dynamic Fit collar.
Whereas the standard edition of the Nike Mercurial Superfly 4 Football Boots comes with an remarkably high sock-like collar, Besic's modified version features a cut-off collar that is not only lower, but also features a unique shape that becomes higher around the rear area. Apart from all these modifications, Bešić's boots are the same as the regular edition of the Nike Mercurial Superfly.
