On August 3 2020, almost exactly 2 months ago, Nike launched the all-new Phantom GT football boots. The Phantom GT merges / replaces the Phantom Vision & Phantom Venom - but there are some top Nike players who still / again use the old discontinued boot silos. Nike Players Who Wear Old, Discontinued Phantom Cleats Instead Of Phantom GT
The most famous player to still wear the Nike Phantom Venom is new Liverpool player Thiago Alcantara. Other athletes who do not have completed the switch to the Phantom GT are Phil Foden, Thibaut Courtois, Joshua Kimmich and Carlos Tevez.
Others, like Lewandowski, are switching between the Phantom Venom and Vision.
Interestingly, there are only very few former Nike Phantom Vision players who do not use the Phantom GT but many Phantom Venom player who prefer the discontinued silo.
Some players like Arturo Vidal were supposed by Nike to wear the Nike Phantom GT but prefer other silos - in Vidal's case the Nike Mercurial Superfly.
Of course, many Nike top stars made the switch to the Phantom GT unhesitatingly - e.g. Kai Havertz, Lautaro Martínez, Sergio Busquets, Kevin De Bruyne and Harry Kane.
