Bayern Munich has officially announced that Jamal Musiala will be the club's new number 10 for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The German international star takes over the iconic jersey from Leroy Sané, who wore it for the past five years before his departure.
Jamal Musiala Becomes Bayern Munich's New #10

In a message to fans, Bayern confirmed the highly-anticipated number change. Musiala will inherit the #10 shirt following Leroy Sané's official transfer to Galatasaray, which was finalized on July 1, 2025.
However, fans will have to wait a little while to see him wear it in a competitive match. Due to tournament regulations, Musiala will continue to wear his current number, 42, throughout the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup. The club explained that a number change is not possible mid-tournament, and Sané was still officially part of the squad for the initial stages in the USA before his transfer was finalized.
To celebrate the occasion, Bayern has announced a special promotion for fans. On July 1st and 2nd, supporters who purchase a new 2025-26 Musiala jersey from the official FC Bayern Online Store or physical club stores will receive the new #10 flocking free of charge.
