Neymar is set to debut custom Nike Hypervenom II Boots in this weekend's FC Barcelona match against Deportivo La Coruña, the last of the league season.
Update (23/05/15): Neymar in the end did not switch to the new Nike Hypervenom 2 Boots for the match and instead laced up in the volt / purple Nike Hypervenom first-generation boots.
Neymar is the headline player for Nike's Hypervenom silo, with the second-generation Nike Hypervenom 2 Boots launched this Thursday at Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium.
Neymar Trains in Custom Nike Hypervenom II Boots
This picture shows Neymar's custom Nike Hypervenom Phantom 2 Football Boots in today's FC Barcelona training.
As we reported back in March, Neymar received a special Nike Hypervenom Phantom II Boot, which comes with a different soleplate, without Flywire and with a lower Dynamic Fit collar. Today, Neymar gave us a first look at how the custom Neymar Hypervenom Soccer Cleats look with the regular Wolf Grey Nike Hypervenom paint job on.
The upper of Neymar's custom Nike Hypervenom 2 Cleats boasts a very clean look compared to the regular version, which features Flywire strings in the midfoot area as well as a fragmented surface in the front area.
While the soleplate of the Nike Hypervenom Phantom II Boots remained almost unchanged from that of the initial Hypervenom, Neymar again opted for a custom soleplate based on the Nike Tiempo Legend IV, released in 2011.
Last but not least, Neymar's custom Nike Hypervenom 2 Football Boots come with a lower Dynamic Fit collar than the retail version. In a similar move, Nike last year famously designed special Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots for Cristiano Ronaldo.
And with many professionals still doubtful over the higher cut, expect a lot to opt for the Nike Hypervenom Phinish, which features a traditional sockliner, instead of the Phantom. In fact, famous Nike Hypervenom athletes like Pedro, Kane and Rooney already chose the Nike Hypervenom Phinish.
How do you like Neymar's custom Nike Hypervenom II Boots? Should Nike release them as a special edition someday?
