São Paulo Signs Five-Year Under Armour Kit Deal

Brazilian media reports that São Paulo signed a five-years jersey sponsorship deal.

In late December 2014, there were rumors afloat that Under Armour is set to sign their first major kit sponsorship deal in Brazil. The rumors proved to be correct, and Brazilian media already revealed several contract details.

The new São Paulo Under Armour Kit Deal is worth €22m (R$ 75m) in total (€4.4 / year), and will begin in May 2015 when the current kit deal with Penalty expires.

"São Paulo has played a significant role in football becoming a cultural passion for Brazilians as well as spreading the flair and electric style of play that has become a symbol of the country’s everlasting impact on how the game is played on pitches all over the world," said Peter Murray, VP of Global Brand and Sports Marketing, Under Armour. "Their tradition of winning, development of young footballers and strong reputation for embracing innovation makes them a great fit for Under Armour. This partnership will further accelerate our expanding presence in football."

The inaugural São Paulo Under Armour Jerseys will be revealed before the start of the 2015 Brasileirão Série A season in May 2015.
