Official: Turkish Süper Lig to Retire Arial Kit Font

Süper Lig Ends Arial Kit Font From 2025-26 Season

In a statement released today from a board meeting held on July 31, 2025, the TFF confirmed the change to its "Sporting Equipment Regulations."

The new rules state that:

This welcome change brings the Turkish Süper Lig in line with other major European leagues where clubs have unique, custom-designed fonts that add to their identity.

Starting with the 2025-26 season, Süper Lig clubs will now be free to design and use their own bespoke kit fonts, ending a long period of standardized, uninspired typography.

A Victory For Fans

This decision is a huge victory for Turkish football fans, who have long campaigned against the use of the default system font. As reported previously by Footy Headlines, there was a growing movement among supporters to end the "12-year nightmare" of the Arial font, which they felt gave the league's kits a cheap and unprofessional look.

This move opens the door for a new era of creativity in Turkish kit design. We can now look forward to seeing clubs like Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş develop their own unique typography that reflects their rich histories.
