Earlier today, Adidas revealed the official match ball that will be used for the 2022 UEFA Champions League final on Saturday. This is the second final ball, after the St. Petersburg version will no longer be needed due to the relocation of the match to Paris.
Adidas Finale 2022 Champions League Ball
Here is Adidas' official match ball for the UCL final.
The Adidas Finale 2022 UEFA Champions League ball has the traditional star pattern all over it, with the stars offset in a way that they touch one another for more than just their end points at the tips.
In terms of the colors used, this ball arguably has the most simple look in the history of UCL final footballs. The stars have a dark metallic outline, with the inside being filled with silver. The rest of the ball is plain white, with no other designs appearing, unlike what we have seen on recent UCL footballs.
This new final ball also sees a comeback of the colored stars and white patches rather than the other way around.
The core message of the ball is of course centered around peace, with the word clearly printed in both Russian and English on one of the white sections.
Unfortunately, this ball will not be available for retail. The limited quantity of existing models will be auctioned off for a good cause.
Adidas say: "The ball will not be available for retail, and instead will be auctioned after the game, with the proceeds going to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to support people forced to flee their homes."
