Chelsea paid 67 million pounds (81.5 million US Dollar) to end their long-term apparel deal with sporting-goods provider Adidas in order to be able to switch to Adidas' U.S. rival Nike, club accounts published today show.

Chelsea originally renewed their deal with Adidas for 10 years in 2013 for £30m / season, while they totally surprisingly broke the contract with Adidas six years early to sign a 15-year, 900 million-pound deal with Nike, which begins next season (£60m / season).
