Over the past few years, a massive branding trend has taken over Italian football. As highlighted by a nice graphic by the specialist football logo account @blog.uge, almost every major Italian club has changed their logo recently.
Logo Changes in Italy
The sheer volume of Italian club logo changes is remarkable. Juventus famously kickstarted the modern movement in 2017, and countless others have since followed suit. Major teams, including Inter, Fiorentina, Napoli, Roma, and Genoa have all introduced new logos over the last few seasons.
These Italian club logo changes are not just limited to the heavyweights. Sides like Venezia, Palermo, Spezia, Como, Cagliari, and Modena have all undergone significant rebrands as well. While some of these new Italian club logos opt for a highly simplified, digital-first aesthetic, others have updated their crests to bring back classic historical elements in a modern way.
Should teams update their crest recently? Which of these changes should not have been made? Let us know in the comments below.
