Flight Energy Drinks to Become new Barcelona Shirt Sponsor?

Barcelona presidential candidate Agustí Benedito has revealed that energy drink company 'Flight - Without Wings' could become the new Barcelona shirt sponsor should he be elected as new president.

Benedito stands against current president Josep Maria Bartomeu, former president Joan Laporta and former club spokesman Toni Freixa. The Barcelona presidential election will take place on July 18 at the Camp Nou.

Agustí Benedito Presents Flight Energy Drink as Possible Barcelona Shirt Sponsor

Previous Barcelona president Bartomeu had announced a pre-deal with Qatar Airways to remain Barcelona's shirt sponsor in a €60m / year deal. Candidate Agustí Benedito, who is against a prolongation of the Qatar deal, today presented Flight, a new brand of energy drinks, supposedly backed with Indian capital, as a possible new Barcelona jersey sponsor.

According to Benedito, the Flight - Without Wings energy drinks company, would be willing to pay between 70 and 80 million euros to feature on the iconic Barcelona shirt from 2016, although nothing has been signed yet. He additionally stated that there are three other companies that are interested in the Barcelona shirt, while preferring to remain unnamed.

Founded only this year, Flight - Without Wings looks to enter the China, India, UK and US markets around the turn of the year.

Joan Laporta, former president and another candidate, who appears to be the biggest threat to an election of Josep Maria Bartomeu, already confirmed that, should he be elected as Barcelona president, Barcelona will return to don Unicef on the front of the shirt instead of a commercial sponsor.
