In line with the launch of the second generation of the Adidas X this summer, Adidas will also update its indoor and turf boots of the silo. This includes the "Vapour Green" Adidas X 16.1 Cage soccer shoes which will be released in early September 2016.
The first-ever Adidas X 16.1 Cage football boots will be almost entirely black and are set for a July 2016 release.
Adidas X 16.1 Cage - Vapour Green / Black / Gold
This image shows the new Adidas X Cage 2016 boots in Vapour Green and black.
Design-wise, the Adidas X 16.1 Cage football shoes echo the look of the regular Adidas X 16.1 cleats. They feature a heightened knit collar and a reworked lacing construction.
The Vapour Green and black Adidas X 16.1 Cage 2016 boots are predominantly black and boast a subtle graphic print on the upper. A trademark feature of the next-gen Adidas X boots, a large Adidas Performance logo is visible on the outside rear of the Vapour Green Adidas X Cage 2016 football boots. A gold X logo is visible at the front of the high-top collar of the new Adidas X 16.1 Cage shoes.
In terms of tech, the second-gen Adidas X Cage 2016 boots show more differences to the on-pitch variant. They come with a thinner, "compression-fit" upper that also features a pattern of subtle recessions to improve ball control and touch. The sole of the Adidas X 16.1 boots is also immensely interesting. Although it's meant to be used on concrete surfaces, it roughly resembles a turf sole, and aims to decrease distractions trough a generally very low build.
Set to be available instore from early September, the Vapour Green Adidas X 16.1 Cage boots retail at $150 (€150).
