Update - Mar 22, 2026: The unofficial La Liga retro kit competition by Kit Creator is in the semi-finals, with four kits left to claim the title.
In comparison to the official designs, the Kit Creator retro kits have more unique and striking looks - but are not that retro.
Update - Mar 15, 2026: More than 500 designers submitted designs for the La Liga retro kit competition, with entries open just four hours now (until today, Mar 15, 2026 16:00 Spain time). Make sure to submit your design within the deadline to take part and have a chance to be featured here on Footy Headlines - as 18 designers whose creations we love.
The kit design platform Kit Creator has launched a new competition inspired by the upcoming retro matchday in La Liga.
La Liga Retro Kit Design Competition
Participants are invited to design a retro or throwback kit for one of the 16 participating clubs, including Atlético Madrid, Valencia CF, Sevilla FC and Villarreal CF. FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF, Getafe CF, and Rayo Vallecano are excluded, as they won't participate.
La Liga Kit Design Competition
Designers must follow strict branding rules, using the official supplier and front sponsor assigned to each club, or no manufactuer/sponsor - they cannot use old suppliers.
The competition is independent and not officially run by La Liga, but is inspired by the league’s planned retro-themed matchday.
