Update: Thai boot experts Boots Weapons have compared the Nike Total 90 2019 remake and the 2007 original. Except the sole plate, they are pretty much identical.
With Nike having re-released Nike Total 90 Laser football boots soon, we compare the 2019 remake and the 2007 original.
Nike Total 90 Laser I - 2019 Remake vs 2007 Original
At first glance, the Nike Total 90 Laser 2019 remake appears to be identical to the Nike T90 Laser I from 2007. However, a closer look reveals that there are some differences between them.
The remake boasts the same colors as the original launch colorway, "Zest / Black / Sport Red".
The upper of the Nike Total 90 Laser 2019 boots appears to be actually the same as the upper of the original Nike Total 90 Laser 1. But there are a important differences on the sole plate.
The sole plate and the studs of the Nike T90 2019 remake and the original are very different. The Nike Total 90 Laser 2019 remake cleats use the brand-new Hyperstability 2.0 plate from the Phantom VNM instead of the TPU plate of the original boot. The new plate is much lighter than the classic plate.
The remake of the cleats are set to be much lighter than the original cleat.
Another difference is quite logical - the original boot was not limited, while only 2,000 pairs of the remake cleats are available. The original boot in brand-new quality is possibly harder to get anyway now.
