Welcome to the second edition of Boot Watch, our independent boot spotting. After we started our all-new boot spotting last week and were utterly surprised how you guys would react, it already starts to feel like to become a routine for us. And even though there were quite a few surprising boot choices in the past seven days, we already want to alert you that the second edition is not as interesting as the first edition (but that was almost impossible anyway). But enough talk for now... Let's get straight into our second-ever Boot Watch.
Wilfried Bony | Blacked-Out Nike Mercurial Vapor X
So let's kick off things with Wilfried Bony's one-of-a-kind blacked-out boots. The Man City striker laced up in a custom blacked-out edition of the Wolf Grey Nike Mercurial Vapor X Boots in the Premier League loss to Stoke City. And even though we're almost 100% sure that he blacked out the Wolf Grey edition of the Nike Mercurial Boots, there are some people around us who think he painted over the Hyper Pink Nike Mercurial Vapor X Boots. Let us know later in the comments section below on whose side you are.
Adidas Players Receive Badly Camouflaged Adidas X Boots
Even though Adidas' players such as Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Filipe Luís previously already received boots with the same modifications, their new black and white Adidas X Cleats are very badly camouflaged and boast a contrasting white sole plate instead of the logical option, which would have been a black sole plate. Theo Walcott nevertheless showed off a close-up picture of his 100% unique camouflaged boots, which is quite ridiculous as he makes it obvious for everyone to see that he don't like the standard boots.
Aidil Zafuan | Unreleased Hyper Grape Nike Magista Obra
This is a boot spot you won't see on other websites. We therefore can only quote from our article: "Aidil Zafuan of Malaysia's Johor Southern Tigers laced up in the bold next Nike Magista Obra football boot colorway" and would like to thank sporthome14 for the heads up once again.
Aymeric Laporte | Laceless Adidas Boots
Athletic defender Aymeric Laporte has given the laceless Adidas Boots the world's first on pitch debut in the Copa del Rey match against third-division side Linense. And while he not only debuted the blackout boots, he even scored the first goal for the revolutionary boots in an actual match.
Patrick Vieira | Mysterious Blackout Boots
Maritimo Funchal's Brazilian defender Patrick Vieira laced up in a unique blacked-out boot in the match against Sporting on Saturday. And as we are not 100% sure what exactly he was wearing, we don't want to beat about the bush and directly ask you. Do you know what he was wearing?
Adidas Players Opt For Alternative Laces (Added)
Several players sponsored by Adidas including Fernando Torres and Juanfran opted for other laces than the bold pink laces Adidas uses for their black and white Adidas X Boots. We can just agree with them as it really looks much better. Meanwhile, Antonie Griezmann debuted a blackout pair of the Puma evoSPEED SL. More on that later on the website.
