In Detail - Nike Total 90 Laser III vs Green Strike Nike Phantom Venom

On Monday, Nike released the second iteration of the Future Lab pack, the Nike Future Lab II. The pack includes a striking green colorway for the Phantom Venom boots that has much similarities to the launch edition of the Nike Total 90 Laser III soccer cleats, which was released in late 2009.

Just as the current Nike Phantom Venom Future Lab II, the Nike Total 90 Laser III launch colorway from late 2009 boasted a striking look in green, red and black. The official color combo was "Electric Green / Red / Black" - the cleat was mainly green with black logos and striking red for the ‘shot shield'.

The Nike Total 90 Laser III was designed for a cleaner strike with more power and swerve - the result was that remarkable instep area with the 'Shot Pad'.

The remarkable feature of the Nike T90 Laser III are five pods on the instep that create a uniform contact point that creates a smoother surface for even pressure distribution. The pods are configured as five separate units that operate as one to remain flexible and fluid when interacting with the foot.
