Cambridge United on Friday unveiled their proposed new club crest after extensive consultation and design work.
The process began with a public survey, which received input from over 27,000 fans, indicating a desire for change. The club collaborated with design agency North who took on the project on a pro-bono basis, while consulting with club staff, the Shadow Board and Club Board, to create the new identity.
As per the announcement, the new crest represents an evolution rather than a revolution, combining historical elements with a modern twist. It pays homage to the city's Magdalene Bridge, features updated CU lettering, and incorporates a Book and Ball icon, symbolizing Cambridge's historical contributions to football and academia.
A final survey will be conducted starting next week to gather fan feedback on the design.
