In a glimpse at what could have been, Adidas accidentally shared pictures of the Mexico 2022 World Cup home kit with the old federation crest. The pictures that appear to show an early sample were featured on the official Adidas Korea Instagram page but have seemingly since been deleted (via @EleteTSC).

It's well documented at this point that the lead-up times to the release of a major football kit can be up to two years. This means that when the new Mexico national team badge was unveiled roughly a year ago, the design of the 2022 World Cup kit was likely already finalized.
The new photos give us an idea of what the Mexico 2022 jersey would have looked like if the federation had decided not to update their visual identify or delay its introduction.
Curiously, the presence of the new logo was probably the main criticism people had of the otherwise very well-received Mexico 2022 World Cup shirt.
