No Adidas for The First Time Ever: J League 2026 Ball Released, Captain Tsubasa Collaboration

The J.League have officially revealed their match ball for the 2026 season, created in collaboration with Japanese brand Sfida and Captain Tsubasa. Named the “Tsubasa J Pro”, the ball marks a historic change for the league, as it is the first time since 1993 that the official match ball is not produced by Adidas. Instead, Japanese brand Sfida takes over as supplier.

Sfida is a small Japanese football brand, best known for producing match balls rather than boots or kits. It is their first-ever deal of that huge importance.

The design of the Sfida J League 2026 Football pays tribute to Tsubasa Ozora, featuring wing-inspired graphics referencing his powerful shots, with “Tsubasa” meaning “wing” in Japanese.

The Adidas 2026 J League football comes in a white base with dynamic multicolour accents, blue main panels, the J.League logo, the character’s image, and the famous phrase “The ball is my friend”.
