First Nike, Then Adidas & Finally Joma? Here Is David Villa's Full Boot History

Former FC Barcelona, Spain striker and Adidas ambassador David Villa has caught the attention of boot addicts this week wearing Joma football boots in training. We take a look at David Villa's career in football boots, including cleats from three different brands.

Villa’s career began at the senior level in 2000 at Sporting Gijon who signed the Spaniard from his local club UP Langreo. David Villa used Nike Mercurial football boots during the three years at the club, scoring 40 goals in Spain's second division. In 2003, David Villa joined top-flight club Real Zaragoza. He should play from 2003 until 2005 for the Aragonese club. In his time at Real Zaragoza, David Villa laced up both in Nike Mercurial and Total 90 football boots.

In 2005, David Villa joined Spanish top club Valencia. And while he had been always wearing Nike boots until then, he laced up in Adidas F50 football boots at the official presentation at the club. David Villa should use Adidas' speed boots for the following decade, playing for Valencia, Barcelona and Atlético.

In 2015, Adidas decided to discontinue the Adidas F50 Adizero soccer shoes. Therefore, the Spaniard was forced to make the switch to the Three Stripes' all-new boot silo, the Adidas X. In 2016, David Villa made some matches with the Adidas Ace soccer shoes silo, while he surprisingly ditched the Adidas X in favor of the Adidas Nemeziz shoes in late 2017.

For the first training session in 2018, however, David Villa totally surprisingly did not lace up in Adidas boots but in the green Propulsion Lite speed cleats of Spanish brand Joma.
