On Friday, PSG announced the signing of Qatar Airways as a new sponsor on a deal that runs until 2023.
Les Parisiens join AS Roma, Boca Juniors and Bayern Munich in having a deal with the airline company. Additionally, it also has to be noted that Qatar Airways is the club's 5th Qatari sponsor (Ooredoo, Visit Qatar, Qatar National Bank and Qatar's TV group beIN Sports), which is important for Financial Fair Play.
Qatar Airways Becomes PSG Premium Sponsor
According to French newspaper L'Équipe, the airline will pay between €5 million (US$5.5 million) and €10 million (US$11 million) per year to join the Ligue 1 club’s premium partnership category.
Qatar Airways also becomes a sponsor of the women’s team and the handball team, until 2022.
PSG’s chief partnerships officer, Marc Armstrong, said: “This is another example of our strong desire to develop innovative partnerships with leading global brands and Qatar Airways is a natural choice for us as it shares our commitment to creating powerful connections with fans all over the world.”
Salam Al Shawa, Qatar Airways’ senior vice president for marketing and corporate communications, added: “In Paris Saint-Germain we have found a partner that shares our passion for innovation and we will work together to develop many exciting activities to engage with supporters and our global audience.”
