Chelsea 20-21 Home Kit Revealed
Chelsea 20-21 Home Kit Incorporates Design With Fabric
The Nike Chelsea 2020-21 kit comes with a subtle herringbone pattern that is not printed on the short but knit into the fabric.
The herringbone design is woven into the fabric
Therefore, Chelsea's kit is not using the new Vaporknit knit pattern seen on the shirts of Barca, Inter and others but a completely custom knit x fabric style.
"Just as Chelsea is woven into the fabric of London life, the city’s rich fashion heritage is woven into the new shirts, the traditional blue elevated by a subtle all-over herringbone knit and garnished with bespoke flourishes."
The herringbone pattern covers both the shirt and the shorts, creating a sophisticated, textured effect.
“London is the epicenter of English tailoring and the kit takes its inspiration from this iconic craft,” says Nike’s Scott Munson, VP, Nike Football Apparel. “We paid tribute to the work of these skilled tailors with the use of bespoke details and trims to create a really crisp aesthetic, which complements Chelsea’s uniquely stylish identity.”
Meanwhile, the replica edition of the Chelsea 2020-2021 home jersey comes with the design printed in a darker shade of blue.
The design of the away kit is just printed
The Chelsea 2020-21 away kit, however, comes with the standard Nike Vaporknit 2020-21 template. This means that the design is just printed on the shirt.
The Vaporknit 'Player Issue' version of the Chelsea 2020-2021 home kit retails at 100 GBP, while the replica 'Fan Version' retails at 70 GBP.
