WhaleFin to Become Atlético Madrid's New Shirt Sponsor

WhaleFin was founded in 2017 by the directors of banking heavyweights Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Bloomberg, and is based in Hong Kong. The company is currently valued at €2853 million, so it's no wonder they can pay for such big sponsorship deals.

The contract with WhaleFin reported to be worth €42 million a season and will run for five years, bringing in €210 million in total, making it the biggest sponsorship deal Atlético have ever signed.

Atlético's current sponsor, Plus500, have had their logo emblazoned across their jerseys for the last seven seasons, starting back in 2015. That deal expires in June of this year and the club are now ready for the next partnership.

We have created two mock-ups showing the Whalefin logo on Atético's upcoming home shirt. It is likely that the real shirt will see the logo placed in a box to create a break in the stripes and allow for increased visibility.

Liverpool to Get New Main Sponsor? In Talks With Crypto Companies

The trend of football clubs partnering with crypto companies shows no signs of slowing down. As long as they continue to offer such vast sums of money in exchange for advertising space, it is very doubtful that clubs will let any ethical questions or moral dilemmas get in the way of such large profits.
