Toyota to Become Roma Shirt Sponsor?
Italian football and business website Calcio e Finanza report that Roma could be lining up a deal with - current training wear sponsor - Toyota to become their new main shirt sponsor. Roma's contract with their current sponsor, crypto firm Digitalbits, runs until the end of the 23-24 season, but the club are said to be considering alternatives in the wake of Digitalbits failure to honour their payments to the other club they sponsor, Inter.

Roma have so far encountered no problems of this nature with Digitalbits, who came on board with the club in 2021. Nonetheless, the firm's dealings with Inter, as well as the news of Whalefin's cancellation of their sponsorship deal with Atlético Madrid, have apparently made Roma wary of a possible collapse in their financial relationship with Digitalbits.
Crypto Firm Whalefin to Cancel Atlético Madrid Sponsorship Deal Four Years Early
Toyota signed on as a training wear sponsor in 2022 but they are now also considered to be a candidate for the chest sponsor slot on Roma's match kits. The club's American owner, Dan Friedkin, has strong ties to the Japanese car manufacturer. He is the USA's biggest distributor of Toyota vehicles, responsible for 15% of all sales in the country. If Roma decide to minimize the risk associated with being in a crypto partnership and get out of the deal a year early, Toyota could well be top of their list of potential replacements.
Toyota have sponsored Valencia, Fiorentina and Nagoya Grampus Eight.
