Cristiano Ronaldo Trains in Blackout Next-Gen Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016 Boots

No one else than Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player to train in a blackout version of the next-gen Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016 Cleats, which are set to be released ahead of the Euro 2016 in France.

Three days ago, we exclusively revealed that the much-awaited next-gen Nike Mercurial Superfly Soccer Cleats will be launched in May 2015, while there was no leaked info about the technologies back then. Enough said, let's get straight into the Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016 Boots, which introduce various new technologies for the fifth generation of the Nike Mercurial Superfly.

Most remarkably, Cristiano Ronaldo's blackout Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots feature a lower Dynamic Fit collar than the current generation of the Nike Mercurial Superfly Football Boots. The collar is rather similar to the modified collar of the custom Nike Mercurial Superfly 2014 Cleats worn by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Another totally new element of the next-gen blackout Nike Mercurial Superfly Cristiano Ronaldo Prototype Boots is an all-new external heel counter, which is strangely enough only visible on the lateral side of the boot. The current version of the Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots features no external counter at all.

But the most interesting element of the next-gen black-out Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016 Soccer Boots is the brand-new upper design. Looking anything but similar to the Flyknit upper of the current generation of the Nike Mercurial Superfly, the upper of the next-generation Nike Mercurial Superfly Cristiano Ronaldo Cleats comes with almost endless extremely strong strings in the upper. Which synthetic material could it be?

The unique structure of the upper of the black-out next-gen Nike Mercurial Superfly is more than likely made from the new Nike Flyweave technology. Flyweave originates from weaving and allows Nike to produce stronger and more intricate fabric than knitting. The next-gen Nike Mercurial Superfly Cleats will offer more lockdown than any previous Nike soccer cleats.

Now let's talk about the outsole of the next-gen Nike Mercurial Superfly Prototype Boots. While the upper of the boot is completely blacked out, the sole plate features a unique graphic pattern that reminds us of design of the next-gen Nike Tiempo Legend 6 Boots. But what's even more interesting is the new configuration and shape of the studs.

The fifth generation of the Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots comes with seven triangular-shaped studs in the front area and four studs in the heel area, which also feature a triangular shape.

It's the totally new design we hoped for, and Nike did not disappoint us. What's your first verdict on the next-gen Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016 Cleats? Let us know in the comments section below, and stay tuned for an in-depth analysis tomorrow.
