The new Sporting Kansas City 2016 Away Kit introduces a classy design that draws inspiration from the dark indigo colors of the club. It features subtle horizontal stripes on the front, inspired by the orirignal stripes of the club, and a classy two-buttoned collar.
Sporting Kansas City combines the dark indigo color scheme with white for the brandings on the front, while the numbers will be printed in metallic silver. The two stars above the club crest represent the Sporting Kansas's MLS Cup championships in 2000 and 2013.
"Our two jerseys that are carrying over from last year are very fashion-forward, so we needed the new secondary kit to have a strong design sense," said John Moncke, Sporting Kansas City's vice president of stadium and brand revenue. "We started designing this jersey right after the launch of the previous secondary kit in March 2014, and we knew we wanted to create something influenced by the original stripes.
