Welcome to the last edition of Boot Watch in 2015. Almost one month has passed since we introduced Boot Watch. And while back then the season was in the hot phase, things have cooled off in the past few weeks. However, the Premier League already returned to action after the Christmas break yesterday, and various other leagues such as La Liga will also return to their normal program next week.
Emre Can Returns to Adidas X 15.1
Liverpool's Emre Can, who laced up in blackout Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots in the Premier League clash against West Bromwich on December 13 (creating rumors that he could leave the Three Stripes) has switched back to the standard black, white, mint green and pink version of the Adidas X 15.1 Boots.
Fabregas | Next-Gen Puma evoPOWER 1.3 Camo
Whereas Olivier Giroud quite surprisingly didn't debut the next-gen Puma evoPOWER 1.3 CAMO Boots in yesterday's Premier League match against Southampton, Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas gave us the first look at the boots that were officially launched today.
Alex Iwobi | Custom Black and White Nike Mercurial Superfly
Alex Iwobi finally had the chance to debut the unique black and white Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots in the Premier League match against Southampton after he has been wearing them in Arsenal's training sessions during the past few weeks. Closer look here.
Neymar | Nike Hypervenom Phantom Camouflage Edition
It was likely the most surprising boot spot of the week. Even though the picture of Neymar wearing a never-seen-before Nike Hypervenom Phantom Camouflage Boot was taken more than one month ago, it was shown on the Instagram page of Brazil's Football Federation not until one day before Christmas. And as we've already analyzed the 'never-seen-before boots' in detail, you can find out all you need to know about them here.
Puma evoSPEED SL-S Boots Debut
It was definitely the most interesting boot release of the week. German brand Puma launched an all-new version of the Puma evoSPEED Boots that lasts more than the already infamous ten games of the Puma evoSPEED SL. Debuted by Puma players such as Marco Arnautovic, the brand-new Puma evoSPEED SL-S Cleat is exactly the same as the first evoSPEED SL apart from a new and much more durable upper.
David Silva | Adidas X 15.1
Manchester City's David Silva returned to the standard edition of the Adidas X 15.1 Boots. He previously laced up in a much more interesting boot (blackout version of the next-gen Adidas Ace 16.1 Primeknit Boots).
Johnnie Jackson | Nike CTR Maestri III White Reflective
Johnnie Jackson from Charlton Athletic did not only wear an old and discontinued boot (Nike CTR Maestri III), his edition of the white Nike CTR Maestri III Reflective Boots also comes with a utterly strange Swoosh-like logo on the outstep that not only looks like if he added it himself... (his boots featured a normal Swoosh some weeks ago [second picture]).
Elizabeth Grey | Nike Premier White / Red
Elizabeth Grey defintilty got the classiest boots of all players featured in this Boot Watch. The Western Sydney Wanderers footballer laced up in the white and red edition of the Nike Premier Remakes that were released in mid-November 2015.
Dimas Delgado | Joma Super Copa Speed
A second boot spot from the Wanderers, but this time from the Men's team. Spanish midfielder Dimas Delgado laced up in the striking blue, white and orange Joma Super Copa Speed Boots. And as the name already suggests, the Joma Copa Speed Cleat is made for ultimate speed featuring a synthetic microfiber upper. The most remarkable fact about the Joma Super Copa Speed Boot is the ultra-low list price tag (74 USD, 65 Euro, 70 GBP).
Brittany Cameron | White Adidas X Women's
Our last boot spot comes from Japan. Brittany Cameron from Vegalta Sendai Ladies laced up in the clean white and lime green Adidas X 15.1 Women's Boots that were released for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada.
This was quite a quiet week - at least in terms of boot spots ;) Have we missed any interesting boot spot or made any serious mistakes? If so, please let us know in the comments section below.
