Peru To Switch To Adidas After World Cup

According to news reports from RPP, the Peruvian national team will switch kit makers after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. It looks very likely that they will depart Marathon Sports for Adidas.

Peru to Sign Adidas Deal

Peru, who are currently outfitted by the Ecuadorian brand Marathon Sports, are going to end their partnership after the 2022 World Cup. The two have been working together since 2018, after the World Cup in Russia, where Umbro were still in charge of supplying Peru's shirts.

No Adidas - Peru Sign Marathon Kit Deal

Four years later, the South American nation will part ways with Marathon Sports, meaning 2023 will see them partner with a different sports brand. As reported by multiple Peruvian sources, this brand will be none other than Adidas.

Apparently contract negotiations are quite advanced at this point and nearing completion. The German brand have already produced Peru's kits before, doing so from 1978 to 1981, as well as from 1983 to 1985.

What is certain is that Peru will be wearing jerseys produced by Marathon Sports during the 2022 World Cup, should they manage to qualify in June through the intercontinental playoffs.

Chile Announce Adidas Kit Deal

After having agreed to a deal with Chile, Adidas could further expand their operations among South American national teams, with Colombia and Argentina already under contract.
