Kappa is believed to be in pole position to become the new kit supplier for SSC Napoli, starting next season.
SSC Napoli currently has the fourth biggest kit sponsorship contract in Italy. It is only behind the country's three biggest teams Juventus, Milan and Inter, who receive between 20 and 30 million € / year.
Macron, Nike and Kappa All Interested in Napoli Kit Deal
Napoli reportedly have three offers on the table from Kappa, Nike (both around €8 million / year) and current sponsor Macron (a bit less than the first two). The club from Naples will have to make a choice soon, just in time for the 2015-16 Serie A season.
In competition with Nike, the club is said to prefer Kappa or Macron over a multinational company due to the better customizability they offer for kits and leisure wear. If the offers are of a similar monetary quality, that is.
Napoli pursued a strategy of utilizing highly-customized and special sports wear over the last few years, results including the 'Jeans' kit from this season or the 'Camouflage' kit from last.
All three candidates made Napoli kits in recent times: Macron has been Napoli's kit sponsor since 2009, while Kappa and Nike produced Napoli's football shirts in 2004-2006 and 1997-2000, respectively.
