Here are some of the unique creations worn by Xolos' players this season.

Update 11/01/2016: We yesterday found a new close-up picture of a unique red Nike Tiempo Legend V Boot that brought the one-of-a-kind boot rule of Club Tijuana back in our minds. Just a beautiful boot that was forced to be created because of an odd boot rule.

With most players in the top leagues signed to one of the big brands and sporting their latest models, Club Tijuana's Liga MX matches are a feast for boot lovers. The Mexican club's unique boots rule forces all players to wear red soccer cleats. Let's take a closer look at the unique boots worn by Tijuana's players.

Founded in January 2007, Club Tijuana became Liga MX champions in 2012 after they reached the first division in 2011. Club Tijuana currently is in the midfield of the Mexican first division.

Club Tijuana Players Only Wear Red Boots

While Alex Ferguson banned Manchester Manchester United's junior players to wear anything other than black boots, and Germany's players were forced to wear Adidas Boots until the 2002 World Cup in Brazil, Club Tijuana's boot rule is truly unique.

Tijuana players are forced to "red out their boots", and we are able to spot various one-of-a-kind boots. And as the brands rarely release red boots, Xolos Tijuana's players mostly wear sprayed boots, or created their boots using the customization service of Nike and Adidas.

But who forces Tijuana's players to wear red boots? According to Mexican sources, Tijuana's club owner Jorge Hank Rhon, who is a "little bit crazy", established the strange boot rule, right after the creation of the club in the mid-2000s. Interestingly, it's also reported that he was behind the club's stadium's unusual capacity of 33,333, out of superstitiousness.

So players paint over the Wolf Grey Nike Mercurial Superfly Boots, or red out the Solar Yellow Adidas X 2015-2016 Soccer Cleats. As a result, there are interesting new boot spots almost every weekend.
