German Bundesliga team Werder Bremen today announced that they have signed a kit deal with English sportswear manufacturer Umbro, who are replacing long-term shirt supplier Nike.
Umbro to Make Werder Bremen Kits From 2018-19
Nike will make next season's Werder jerseys as their deal with the German club is valid until June 2018.
Werder Bremen currently have a deal with US brand Nike until the end of the 2017-18 season. The Umbro partnership will come into effect at the beginning of the 2018-19 German soccer season.
According to German sport business publication Sponsors.de, the deal will see Umbro paying €3.5 million per season to Werder, an increase of €500,000 over what Nike was believed to be paying.
It is Umbro's second major kit deal in Germany as the British brand also makes the kits for 2. Bundesliga side 1. FC Nürnberg since 2016.
