Ridiculous: Hannover 96 Plasts Sponsor Over Previous Sponsor, Patch Comes Off

Update: Hannover 96 was apparently surprised that local transport operation ÜSTRA would like to be on the club's kits for the remainder of the season. The logo was very cheaply plastered over the old one and came off during the match. We did not expect to see something like that in pro football.

Hannover 96, the German 2. The Bundesliga team, has announced a new shirt sponsor for the rest of the season.

Hannover 96 to Play with ÜSTRA Logo on Kits Until the End of 23-24 Season

The previous sponsor, "brainhouse247," part of the "Wohninvest" group, has faced financial difficulties and decided to relinquish its role as the main sponsor. The new sponsor is ÜSTRA, the Hannoversche Verkehrsbetriebe, who will now be displayed on the team's jerseys.

Hannover did not get any money from its old main sponsor for a long while

Instead of having new blank kits with the ÜSTRA logo, Hannover 96 had to place a large red box over the previous sponsor, letting it look cheap.

The previous sponsor had been paying almost €1.5 million per season, but Hannover 96 had not received any payments for a while due to financial problems.

The change in sponsorship comes almost at the end of the season and started with the match against Schalke.

Are you surprised that Hannover 96 had no blank kits on which to place the new sponsor logo? Let us know in the comments below.
