Official: Venezuela Leave Givova and Join Adidas

Update: The Football Venezuelan Federation and Grupo David, representatives of the Adidas brand in Venezuela, have announced the new partnership starting in 2024.

"We are seeing the results of the work well done, returning the illusion and joy to our fanatics, and taking our deporte to the place of honor that corresponds to it, both off and on the field.", said Jorge Giménez, President of the FVF.

We believe in the potential of football in Venezuela, and for that reason we are very happy and confident in signing this alliance with the FVF.", stated Carlos Medina, representative of Grupo David. He added, "It is a process that takes time to guarantee the high standards of quality that a brand as prestigious as Adidas requires."

Update: After a surprising turn of events, Venezuela will join Adidas instead of Erreà, finally replacing Givova as the technical sponsor of the national team, according to Venezuelan journalist Liz Gastello.

The official announcement will be next week, as Venezuela will be the next Nacional team to join the German brand.

The Venezuelan Soccer Federation were partnered with Adidas from 2005 to 2018, so they would return to a brand that has been linked with the nation, team and country for 13 years.

Original: The Venezuelan Soccer Federation are set to sign a new kit deal with Italian brand Erreà, replacing Givova as the technical sponsor of the national team, according to Venezuelan journalist Armando Naranjo.

Erreà to Become Venezuela Kit Maker

The likely Erreà x Venezuela kit deal comes after the end of the federation's contract with Givova at the end of last year, which had been in place since 2019. The choice of Erreà as the new sponsor was unexpected, with many fans and journalists speculating about a potential return to Adidas, which had previously provided the Vinotinto clothing in several stints.

Erreà have emerged as the chosen brand also due to their contract with UEFA for an assistance plan for teams with little bargaining power, such as Andorra, San Marino, the Faroe Islands, Malta, Belarus, Kazakhstan, or Liechtenstein. The brand also sponsors several European football clubs, including ADO The Hague, Lugano, and Sion, as well as the Italian volleyball, baseball, and rugby teams.

The news of the kit deal with Erreà has generated mixed reactions among fans, with some disappointment that the federation did not choose a more well-known brand like Adidas or Puma.
