Images of a never-seen-before white FC Barcelona Kappa kit have been shared by football kit collector @GusCamisetas. The collector usually knows a lot about kits, but this time does not have a clue what exactly this kit is...
In fact, despite being the color of arch rivals Real Madrid, white is a color that has been used by Barca, at least until the late 1970s. FC Barcelona recently rejected a proposal by Nike to have a predominantly white away kit in the 2020-21 season.
White 2020-21 Kit Rejected - White! Barcelona Kit History
Mysterious, Never-Seen-Before White FC Barcelona Kappa Kit - 1992-93 Rejected Kit?
The white FC Barcelona Kappa kit features Kappa's style of the early 1990s, especially of the 1992-93 season. It is white with a blue / red strip running down the right side of the kit. The sleeves feature a band with Kappa's famous Omini logo in red.
Kappa became Kappa did not ever release a white kit for FC Barcelona. Their first FC Barcelona kits, those of the 1992-1993 season, were Blaugrana / White (Home) and Turquoise / Blaugrana (away).
We think that the kit is either showing a fake (quite unlikely) or a prototype Kappa FC Barcelona kit of the 1992-1993 campaign.
