Update: After it was first worn by Chelsea's women's, Chelsea's men's and U21 teams have debuted the 2023-2024 home kits featuring the Infinite Athlete logo. For the U21s, the iridescent logos were almost invisible from some angles due to the low light. For the Women's team, who played in the evening, the iridescent logos were most prominent. For the men's team, who played at night, the iridescent logos also looked good.
For us, the sponsor is still too prominent. Nike could have given the iridescent logos a golden base color to prevent them from 'disappearing'.
Update: With Chelsea finally having a main kit sponsor, the iridescent kit is no longer sponsorless. The white sponsor stand sout as the iridescent logos become almost invisible at certain angles and under certain lighting conditions.
The Chelsea Women's team debuted their new sponsored kit last weekend, with the Infinite Athlete logo appearing very large on the kit, while the crest and Swoosh move into the background. The men set to follow suit tonight. With the match being played under floodlight, the Swoosh and the crest could become "invisible" from some angles, similar to some pre-season friendlies.
Chelsea Football Club's newly released home kit for the 2023-2024 season has been debuted yesterday night - and there has been a problem; at least, it appears like it. Thanks to Chelsea fan and kit authority @hendocfc for the heads-up.
Chelsea's New Home Kit Faces Design Flaw: Iridescent Logos Appear to Disappear From Some Angles
The iridescent logos of the Nike Chelsea 2023-2024 home kit appear to disappear from certain angles. The iridescent swoosh, which is supposed to add a pop of color to the royal blue jersey, becomes almost invisible then. Similar things happen with the iridescent crest, even though more edges prevent it from becoming almost invisible.
It is not known if Nike were aware of this problem before the debut. According to @hendocfc, the iridescent logos were added lately in the design process.
Nike will certainly not take any corrective measures. At daylight, the logos appear to be better visible at all angles.
