FC Midtjylland will partner with Puma on a five-year gear sponsorship starting from the next 2023-24 season. The club goes back to the partner who adorned the Danish team for the first 15 years of the club's existence.
Thus, it is also a farewell to Nike, which has been the club's clothing partner for the past eight years.
The club shared some information regarding the search for a new manufacturer, something we don't see quite as often. They contacted several potential future partners but their preferred option on the list of dream scenarios was Puma. They feel they get a partner who knows the club, has been away, developed, and now comes back stronger knowing how FC Midtjylland functions as a club.
Another important detail is the fact that Puma will give FC Midtjylland a high priority. They are prioritized as number one in the Nordic market, which means that they are also willing to help them with other things that don't just involve delivering one-of-a-kind kits. This applies to everything from marketing, tests and joint development of products to other forms of knowledge sharing.
Finally, the club also stated this is their biggest earnings on a kit deal in the whole history of the club, over the five years of the partnership.
This move has been already teased because one of their satellite/partnership club, CD Mafra, a Portuguese team that plays in the Segunda Liga (2nd tier) signed with Puma as well, thus creating a more cohesive brand representation.
Normally the Danish team plays training matches in the pre-season with last season's kits. But since there are no Puma jerseys from last season, the German brand created limited edition jerseys which will also be available to the fans.
Despite the fact that the official player kits for the 2023-24 season will only be presented later in the summer, the club has already unveiled its Goalkeeper Home kit.
In addition to the new playing kits for the pre-season training matches, Puma has released their complete series of training clothes, which the team will also use from today.
