Already last year, Italian clubs AC Milan and Inter Milan announced that they want to build a new state-of-art stadium in the district of the current Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. Now both teams unveiled two new concepts as part of their plans for it.
On September 26, 2019, A. C. Milan and Internazionale released two potential designs for the new stadium, tentatively named the Nuovo Stadio Milano, designed by Populous and MANICA, respectively.
New Milano Stadium - To Be Used By AC Milan & Inter Milan
The first concept is called "The Rings of Milano, designed by Sportium/manica".
The two new proposals are the result of a constructive dialogue with the Municipality and have been developed in accordance with the 16 conditions provided by the Municipality and the City Council in November 2019.
The new concepts designed by Populous and Manica/Sportium provide for the retention of a part of the current Giuseppe Meazza Stadium within a new retail and sports district that can be used 365 days a year, including about 106,000 square metres of green space (nearly double the current 56,000 square metres of green space on the current site).
The current San Siro Stadium Will Be Incorporated Into The Project
According to FC Internazionale Milano and AC Milan, the project represents more than one billion euros of private investment.

Both possible designs were submitted to the Municipality of Milan as part of preparatory document for the feasibility project for the creation of the new world-class stadium and a Sports and Entertainment District in the San Siro area.
