Adidas to Bring Trefoil Logo to Home Kits - Potential 2030 World Cup Plan?

Adidas is gradually introducing its iconic Trefoil logo across football kits in a long-term strategy that could culminate with home kits by the 2030 World Cup.

Adidas Trefoil Comeback in Football

The rollout of the Trefoil logo began with their Elite team third kits in the 2024-25 season and is expanding systematically across more teams and kit types.

The trefoil first appeared on third kits in 24-25, expanded to more teams' third kits in 25-26, and will debut on away kits of (even more) teams in 26-27 for the first time.

While there's no confirmed information about 27-28 and beyond, the logical progression suggests the trefoil will eventually reach home kits. The timing could align perfectly with the 2030 World Cup, which celebrates the tournament's 100th anniversary. Adidas' own 80th anniversary in 2029 adds another layer of significance to a potential 2029-30 season rollout, though it could also debut on home kits in the 2028-29 season.

The phased approach allows Adidas to reintroduce its heritage branding without overwhelming fans, building anticipation for what could be a major design shift across world football.

huge thanks to @grhaer9 for the mock-up

We have added the Trefoil logo on the Adidas Manchester United and Liverpool kits for the 2026-2027 season, which would perfectly fit the retro branding.
