Portugal's convincing 6-1 win over Switzerland in the 2022 World Cup Round of 16 was all about Cristiano Ronaldo and his replacement Gonçalo Ramos, but we noticed something interesting in terms of kits as well.
For the first time this World Cup, there are two differently colored sets of sleeve badges available: one white and one purple / blue, to be used on dark and light kits, respectively.
Very Uninspired: 2022 World Cup Kit Sleeve Badges Revealed - Dark & Light Versions
Portugal usually wear the white patches on their 2022 home kit, which is of course dark red, but on Tuesday, they curiously were spotted with the blue 'Football Unites the World' on the left sleeve of their kit. On the right was the 'correct' white FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 badge.
The reason for the unexpected change is not known, but perhaps it's just due to the kit room running out of the white 'Football Unites the World' patches.
Portugal will be back in their beige away kit for the game against Morocco on Saturday.
