Update 09/01/2016The Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 324K Gold Boot was sold out in the USA within a minute. It now seems certain that there are less pairs available than initially expected (we think that Nike produced approximately 3,000 pairs).
How Limited is The Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 324K Gold Boot?
There were still pairs left of the Nike Mercurial Superfly Cristiano Ronaldo 324K Gold Boots after more than an hour.
While the most recent limited edition Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 Boots such as the Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 Rare Gold Boots (Released on January 12 2015 to celebrate Cristiano Ronaldo's third FIFA Ballon d'Or title | Limited to 333 pairs globally) were sold out within minutes, there were still all sizes except one size left of the Nike Mercurial Superfly 324K Gold ten minutes after the launch that kicked off exactly on 8:00 GMT this morning. And while we expected that things would go fast now, we were quite surprised after we saw that there were still plenty sizes available after more than 20 minutes. So when were the boots finally sold out?
After 45 minutes, the most common boot sizes were not available anymore. There were only two sizes left - the smallest (UK 6) and the largest (UK 11). But after that, it again took some time until anything would happen. However, after more than one hour only one size of the boots remained (UK 11). And while it then again took some time, the following message appeared after almost 90 minutes of waiting: "THE PRODUCT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE". But now let's pass over to the actual question of the article. Is the Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 324K Gold Boot really a limited edition release?
As the boots were just launched in Europe yet, there is one thing that is already sure. There are still plenty pairs available for the launch of the cleats in the United States that will be on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10:00 AM EST. However, as it took more than an hour for the white and golden boots to be sold out in Europe, we are almost sure that there is a five-digit number of the boots available globally, even though we also can just speculate at the moment. So what is at least certain yet?
What is sure is that the boots are not roughly as limited as the Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 2013 and 2014 Ballon d'Or, and that there are also much more pairs available than of the Nike Tiempo Totti and Ronaldinho Boots (Launched last year | Limited to 2500 pairs respectively). So, at least for us, it's not a real LE release but just a trick to push the sales.
Have you 'secured' your pair of the boots (followers from Europe)? Will you get your hands on the 'limited edition' Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 324K Gold if they come out on January 9 (followers outside Europe)? Let us know in the comments below.
